Behind the Maestro’s stylist is a designer who knows her art inside out.
For the past few months, Stromae has been on everyone’s lips, but for an entirely different reason than his music. Suffering from a rare disease as a result of taking preventive malaria treatments, the latter has had to cancel his latest 2023 tour. But behind Stromae lies a little piece of woman who is at the head of a small fashion empire. Zoom in on an artist every bit as gifted as her husband.
Her debut as a designer
Originally, Coralie Barbier was in charge of Stromae‘s look. For a few years, they worked together to shape the extravagant, timeless person that is Stromae. On the strength of this experience, the two lovebirds decided to launch the label Mosaert, which would become a clothing brand. Today, their official website features a trendy store, plenty of references and, above all, some great ideas.
A grandiose promo
We particularly remember this fashion show event organized by Coralie Barbier. The models in attendance didn’t simply parade, no, they had to learn a millimeter choreography to blow the minds of the guests handpicked for the occasion. The event was also the perfect excuse to unveil a new, previously unreleased track by Stromae. Combining their strengths and talents, the two artists were the talk of Mosart that day.
A collaboration with Repetto
For his fourth collection, Mosaert was lucky enough to join forces with the Repetto brand of accessories and dancewear. An obvious choice for Stromae since the singer loves dancing, but also and above all the Repetto brand. In an interview with Grazia, he said in particular:« I was already wearing a lot of their models on stage. We’d been thinking about a collaboration for a long time, and I always had Repetto in mind. One day, in an interview, I said I didn’t understand why there weren’t any ballerinas for men. It came to the ears of Niven Soo, project manager at Repetto, who made a pair and sent them to me. We thought it was logical to go and see them ». For this collaboration, Mosaert and Repetto proposed a colorful collection, but above all, a unisex wardrobe. Stromae would add in the same interview: « It’s mainly because Coralie is a woman and I’m a man. We wanted to create something we could both wear ».
